Steven Graves Band Electronic Press Kit (EPK)
Making a New World
Is Just a Matter of Time
The Steven Graves band is a veteran roots touring band based in Santa Cruz CA, has just released their 8th CD, “How Long”! The new CD leans more heavily toward the roots rock realms and even explores elements of gospel, soul and R&B. Even so, there’s plenty of Americana, Country and Jam/Dead influences present throughout the CD and like all of Steven’s music is woven together by finely crafted songwriting and extraordinary musicianship. This mostly original Americana band grooves with soul, consciousness and an old-school Classic Rock and Southern Rock edge. A bit Dead, Eagles, Pink Floyd and more….yet uniquely the Steven Graves Band. Steven shares: “My music is mostly all original and while defined as Americana or California Country we bring in many styles from gospel, R&B and even reggae. It’s all woven together with high energy, catchy hooks, great harmonies and socially and spiritually conscious lyrics.” Come on down to dance, boogie or just enjoy this highly accomplished and original touring band!
Grateful Web Interview
"Longtime favorite of Grateful Web, Steven Graves plays his own style of rock and soul in venues across the West Coast and Mountain States. He’s a guitarist, vocalist, and bandleader who’s always followed his gut instincts when it comes to bringing together a great song. Without leaning heavily on covers, and humble enough to bring in accomplished bandmates who bring a gigantic spectrum of styles and energy."

No Depression Review
"Oddly, though, it’s the personal songs on How Long that really work best for me. “Good Day”, with its cheerful harmonies, leads me on to the clutch in the middle, starting with “Captain Soul”. This is a great lyric, with a beautifully structured melody and some of the fine backup harmonies that pepper the song list. “Fool For You” is a sweet tune, made to shine by singer Sasha Dobson’s lead vocal. “Set Me Free”, a kickass little rocker, is possibly my favorite track here. For those who enjoy Dead covers, Graves offers up a competent version of “Sugaree”, faithful to the original."

Vents Magazine How Long Video Review
"Steven Graves is a firm believer that “music has the power to transport us to another time and place.” He loves to harness that power with a broad audience of fellow music lovers and passionate musicians alike. His new video “How Long” is the perfect visual compliment and soundtrack for that musical journey, perfectly capturing the transformative spirit of his music."
